Big 12 Basketball Betting Breakdown

I think we’re looking at a conference here that’ll see four teams head into the largest NCAA Basketball Betting tournament of all time.

Oklahoma is going through a tough spell with their big injury to Griffin, and while their seed might be in question, their invitation definitely is not. If anything, they’re switching to the role of spoiler once the Big 12 tournament roles around, either squashing Mizzou’s hopes of climbing to a 2 seed (if Kansas doesn’t accomplish that first), or putting another mid-tier conference team down for the count.

I’m looking at you Kansas State.

Missouri and Kansas obviously are locks, as well. MU holds the upper hand right now at PokerStar.it due to their miraculous, possible fluke of a comeback against the Jayhawks in Columbia this season, but the rematch in Lawrence is probably going to tell a different story. That game takes center stage March 1, and don’t think the Sooners and everyone else in the basketball world won’t be watching.

Then Missouri, assuming the at least escape Kansas without an injury (knock on wood) stumbles back home to face the Sooners, who’ll be hungry for a beating to re-establish themselves as a threat. They might be playing Mizzou, but they’re going to want to send a message to North Carolina, UConn, Pitt and others even more so.

And then you have Texas, who’s been clinging to life at the bottom of the Top 25 polls lately, and will probably make it in as an 8 or 9 seed. And that’s where I think it’ll end for the conference.

Kansas State, Oklahoma State or anyone else will have to stage an impressive and dominant PokerStars.com run to a Big 12 title to open anyone’s eyes, but with three tough, talented teams ahead of them, I don’t see that happening.

So it’ll be, in this order, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Texas. I see Oklahoma still getting in as a number one seed if they win out. Kansas tops Missouri, and win or lose in the Big 12 championship game, earns a No. 2 seed in the tournament, a 3 at the lowest. Mizzou gets a 4 and should be happy with that.

I wouldn’t bet on any of these teams to make it past the sweet 16, though. None of them are strong enough, not even Oklahoma. To check out the latest NCAA College Basketball Odds visit BaskeballSportsbook.com.

MLB Predictions

Let’s take a look at some upcoming baseball betting games as we cruise through opening month.

Yankees at Red Sox. Funny how it was only a few short weeks ago that Yankees fans were already forgiving A-Rod and looking forward to seeing their team’s ridiculous spending pay off in the form of a championship ring handed to them by the rest of the league in the first week of the season. Even the odds makers were on board with this one. But is it really a shock that they’re struggling? Not to me. They overpaid for all three of their big names, but it’s a familiar Yankee who’s killing them them worst right now. And speaking of Wang, him and his morbidly obese ERA face off against Beckett. Boy does Wang look awful, even before the Indians lady-smacked him. Yanks and their fans are worried, and for good reason. -170 Boston, +145 Yankees.

Seattle at L.A. Angels. Is that what they’re called these days…L.A.? I can never stay up with it. Anyway, surprise, surprise this division is upside down. Weren’t the Angels supposed to pick up where they left off in last year’s regular season? And aren’t the Mariners a team of the past, rebuilding for years down the road — with Griffey? Guess not. Seattle sends Bedard and his impressive ERA and whip to the mound to face Darren Oliver, who despite L.A.’s record, has impressive early-season numbers of his own. The Angles aren’t as bad as their record shows, though, and the team’s .259 ERA, while not great by any means, is hanging in there with the league average. But Vlad needs to hit better than .250 for this team to make a move at any point this season. Still, as the home team and a strong pitcher for them throwing, it’ll likely be close to a pick ‘em. +110 for both teams.

Cubs at Cards. Anyone that has ever done any sports betting can see these two teams fighting back and forth for first place in the NL Central all season long? If I had to put some MLB Betting dollars on a team, I would go with the Cardinals. I give credit to the Cards, they’re a better team early on than I pinned them for when doing my predictions. Lohse pitches, and he’s sporting a sick 0.76 WHIP so far. His 2-0, 2.57 ERA ain’t too bad, either. He faces Dempster, who’s struggled to keep his ERA at an acceptable level so far. Expect the Cards hitters to continue the streak and pick up the win here. Cards -130, Cubs +115.

NFL Superbowl Odds

With the NFL regular season almost finished and the playoffs creeping up on us, I thought now would be a great time to take a look at some Superbowl odds. This year the competition in the NFL has been a bit unbalanced for the most part with several teams having a clear advantage over the rest of the league. There is no doubt that a few teams have a good shot at winning the Superbowl this year though, which means you can still find some value in basically all of the teams. With week 12 just finished you can expect the odds to begin changing quite a bit as teams separate themselves from the rest of the league so if you’re going to make a Superbowl Futures Bet I would make one shortly.

The favourite to win the Superbowl at the time of writing this article is the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts are sitting with an 11-0 record right now and they just made a massive comeback in their victory over the Texans. The Colts have been playing electric football this year and Manning seems like he is on a mission for a Superbowl. Right now you can find the odds sitting at around +275 for the Colts to win the Superbowl this year. Although this isn’t much value you’re still getting almost 3:1 on your money by betting on the best team in football right now to win it all.

If you’re anything like myself then you’ll either wait for the Colts football betting odds to jump a bit or not bet them at all. Personally I don’t think that they’re going to win the Superbowl and there is better value in other teams. The Vikings right now are sitting at +400 odds which is pretty juicy for a team with a great offence and defence. I have been really impressed with the Vikes this year and at +400 it’s worth a sprinkle. A couple other teams jump out at me as well while looking over the odds. The New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints are both sitting at +450 odds right now. Personally I would layoff of the Patriots this year because I don’t think they have the defence to win the Superbowl. The Saints on the other hand have a shot at winning the Superbowl this year although it is going to take a couple big games in the playoffs for them to get that far.

If you have lots of gamble in you and you want better odds then the teams listed above then you have a few options. The Chargers have been improving every game this year it seems and they are really hitting their stride right now. The odds at most bookies for the Chargers right now is sitting at around +850 which is pretty sweet odds for a good team that has a shot at winning it all this year. The Bengals are sitting at +1200 right now, but I don’t think that they’ll make the Superbowl let alone win it. For all the degenerates out there like me you might also want to throw down a sprinkle on the Titans at +4000 if they continue winning games and making a push for the playoffs.

NBA Basketball Betting Odds Questions

Are the Suns a playoff threat? Despite their loss before the nation’s president, are the Bulls really a threat to make the playoffs? Will Marbury destroy the Celtics chemistry? How much will Marbury even play?

Tons of NBA basketball betting odds questions to address, all of which have an affect on what bets you might be placing on these NBA contenders and pretenders down the stretch to the playoffs.

Addressing the Suns: Shaq looked like the player he once was recently with a big 45-point game and another 33-point one. I get the feeling he burned up everything he has left in those two performances, though, and that you won’t see this from him again, possibly ever. Where was he the rest of this season?

The bottom NBA lines with the Suns is they’re not even in the playoff mix right now. The Suns might think the Suns are in the playoff hunt, but if you’re even putting money on them making it to the next round of ball, you’re throwing your money away. There are far too many reasons to list that while the #2 seed and the #9 seed in the West are only separated by an amazingly slim 6 games or so, all the teams above the Suns are better clubs that’ll be there come playoff time.

But what about the Bulls? This isn’t like baseball betting. Who would’ve thought Brad Miller of all people would’ve injected life back into Chicago. That’s not to say the Bulls haven’t been playing better before the big trade that landed the former Bull back in the United Center, and at one point recently they had won 8 of 12. Ultimately, though, don’t count on him as a game-changer, and thus, don’t hold your breath, or your money, that the Bulls will make the playoffs.

Which brings us to Marbury. Why would the best team according to sportsbook.com in the East take a chance on this guy? What it won’t cost them in salary, it’ll cost them in team chemistry, bank on it. You see recent interviews of this guy where he says he’s a changed man and you just want to believe him so much, don’t you?

Don’t. The guy is a poison. Furthermore, and much more importantly, he’s not a great player. He never was. I’ve never in 20 years of watching basketball seen a point guard act more selfishly on the court…and that includes Steve Francis. He’ll never make anyone around him better, and if you give him the ball, it disappears into the Stephon abyss of missed jumpers.

If anything, Marbury hurts the Celtics to the point where I’d change my money to a Cavs/Lakers finals now, or, even better, save my money for the soccer betting season.
